How do I connect my Arduino Uno to a Windows PC?

Your PC needs a driver program to connect to an Arduino Uno. This is usually loaded automatically when the Arduino is first connected. If this doesn"t happen you may need to download the driver yourself. Try installing the drivers you find here. If those don't work, try the ones here.

In Windows you can check in Device Manager to make sure that the device is working OK. Click the Windows Start button and search for 'Device' and then select the Device Manager from the menu. If all is well you should see your device appear in the “Ports ( COM & LPT ) ” group when it is plugged in.
